Centrica has launched Local Heroes, a new service to help customers find trusted local tradespeople to carry out work in the home.

Once they have found a tradesperson and received an estimate, customers will be able pay for the work through the site. Work undertaken through the service is backed by a 12-month British Gas guarantee. Currently the service only lists local plumbing, heating, electrical and drainage experts, but Centrica has said this may expand next year.

Mark Hodges, chief executive of Centrica Consumer commented:  “Local Heroes is the first online platform that offers a complete start-to-finish experience, introducing current and next generation Centrica customers to local tradesmen – crucially, all backed by the peace of mind of a British Gas guarantee.”
