Evenergi wins first ‘lite’ licence with Corona

Ofgem has granted its first ‘Licence Lite’ approval, to Evenergi.

The ‘lite’ licence is intended to help new suppliers enter the electricity supply market. It allows the new entrant to partner with an existing licensed supplier – who assumes responsibility for some of the more costly and technically challenging parts of a supply licence.  Evenergi’s partner is Corona Energy Retail 4 Ltd.

Evenergi’s focus is power supply for electric vehicles. Its mission statement says, “We must take action now to electrify transportation. We believe that dramatically reducing the cost of renewable energy for EV drivers will help sell more electric vehicles.”

Partner Corona is a major energy supplier in the business market and recently joined up with Anglian Water Business to offer electricity, gas and water to its business customers.
