BEIS opens £10 million funding competition for energy entrepreneurs

The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) has opened Phase 6 of the Energy Entrepreneurs Fund for applications. The fund is a competition that supports development and demonstration of state of the art technologies, products and processes in the areas of energy efficiency, power generation, and heat and electricity storage. The application window will be open until 17 November.

BEIS said the scheme “particularly aims to assist small and medium-sized enterprises, including start-ups, and those companies that are selected will receive additional funding for incubation support.” It highlighted the Fund in the Clean Growth Plan, published last week, where it promised a further £14 million in funding.Applications can be for up to £1 million in funding and a total of £10 million is available for projects in phase 6.

Expressions of interest are required by 1pm on 17 November 2017. The deadline for applications is 1pm on 1 December 2017. Grants will be awarded in March-May, 2018.
