Triad challenge: opponents fail in bid to delay start date

Companies seeking a judicial review of Ofgem’s decision to cut Triad benefits have failed to win an injunction to  prevent the decision taking effect in April, as planned. The hearing took place on 23 January.

Ofgem said the application “would have delayed implementation of our decision until April 2019, which we believe would cost customers approximately £500 million.” The decision will now take effect on 1 April, but it could be unwound if the judicial review, due to be considered in a hearing in late April, finds in the claimants’ favour.
