How much cash would you need to ‘go dark’ for an hour? Take ACER’s survey

ACER (the Agency for Co-ordination of Energy Regulators) is asking European electricity customers whether they would swap a short power outage for cash – and if so, how much. It is part of a research effort to try to find out how customers value electricity.

The Agency wants answers from both domestic and business customers over what payment would make a short blackout worth it, and whether that changes if customers know they will lose power in advance.
