Co-Op offers tariff sourced from community renewables projects

Co-op Energy has today launched a Community Power Tariff, which offers green energy sourced from 90 local renewable energy generation projects across the UK. The Community Power tariff offered by Co-op Energy will be  delivered by Co-op Community Energy, a joint venture between The Midcounties Co-operative and Octopus Energy.

The Community Power tariff sources power from projects like Westmill Wind and Solar Farm and uses offsets for gas usage. It costs an additional £5 a month compared with a regular Co-op Energy tariff, with profits reinvested  to maintain community energy projects, the company said.
