ACT NOW: Supergen Energy Networks Hub seeks bids for £400k in research funding

The Supergen Energy Networks (SEN) Hub has invited expressions of interest grants towards energy projects.

The Hub’s Flex Fund has £400k of grant money to award to around four projects. It wants expressions of interest for projects of up to £125k based around resilience.

The SEN Hub’s  research programme aims to address the issue that current energy networks research does not fully embrace a whole systems approach. It is investigating the physical multi-vector energy network infrastructure, markets and regulation, policy and society, ICT and data and risk and uncertainty as critical elements to modernise and integrate the infrastructures effectively.

The Hub has three working groups looking at Climate Adaptation, Network Architectures and Markets and Regulation, and it wants to fund projects which address network resilience with one or more of the three working group topics as areas of focus. It encourages applications from all disciplines across the sector.

It said, “we are interested in receiving proposals which will investigate the nature of energy network climate adaptation needed in the future. Research can address the nature of future weather impacts, the development of models or scenarios of adaptation solutions, and tools and strategies, for energy networks”

Submissions must be made by 8 April.  Further details here
