JLEN raises £59M, plans battery and bio-energy investment

JLEN Environmental Assets Group has raised £56.9 million in a share offering and has announced plans to invest in operational bio-energy assets and battery storage.

The group’s current portfolio comprises 36 projects. They include onshore wind, PV solar, waste and wastewater processing plants, hydro and anaerobic digestion plants, low carbon transport and battery storage in the UK, France, Spain and Sweden totalling 310MW.

In March the group announced plans to expand its portfolio and it plans to bring its first battery storage project into operation this year.

It also plans further investment into CNG refuelling stations for commercial HGVs. It currently has a stake in six refuelling stations and said it would continue to invest in rolling out a national network of such stations over the next 2-5 years.
