Consent granted for South Humber Bank plant

Development consent has been granted for a 95MW electricity from waste plant at Stallingborough. The consent for EP Waste Management’s South Humber Bank plant replaces earlier consent granted for a 49.9MW plant at the site, without increasing the maximum fuel throughput of 753,500t/yr of refuse-derived fuel, or increasing the maximum sizes of the building dimensions granted
The secretary of state accepted the developer’s argument that provision of CHP is not presently economically viable, although the developer said it would construct the development as ‘CHP-Ready’.
