EDF Renewables to start up first major UK solar project this year

Construction has begun at the 49.9MW Sutton Bridge solar farm, EDF Renewables’ first major solar project in the UK, which is being built by Anesco.
Planning permission was granted in March 2021 generation is expected to begin by late 2022. EDF Renewables said it wants to install EV charging points near to site to help the local community transition to electric vehicle ownership.
Anesco has now built more than 100 solar farms and 30 energy storage facilities, and has monitoring responsibilities for more than 24,000 solar sites across the UK and Europe. It has 11 grid-scale solar PV and energy storage projects totalling 360MW under design and construction.
