Three consortia are in the running to own and operate the transmission link to the Seagreen 1 offshiore wind farm, under Ofgem’s OFTO framework.
The three groups will participate in the invitation to tender (ITT) stage of the Seagreen Phase 1 OFTO tender process. They are
• Diamond Transmission Partners (DTP), owned by Mitsubishi Corporation.
• Equitix Kyuden International, T&D Consortium (EKITD), a consortium of Equitix Investment Management Ltd, Kyuden International Corporation and Kyuden T&D Global CO, Inc.
• Transmission Capital Partners (TCP), a consortium of International Public Partnerships Limited and Transmission Capital Partners Limited Partnership.
The three bidders will now go through to the final ITT Stage, which will commence in late 2022. Following successful completion of the tender process, Ofgem will appoint an OFTO for this link.
Seagreen Phase 1 has an estimated value of £633.3 million and will connect almost 1.1GW of generation capacity.
