Moixa acquired by US-based Lunar Energy

Domestic energy storage and flexibility comoany Moixa has been acquired by Lunar Energy a US company founded in 2020 to develop all-electric homes.
Moixa founder Simon Daniel said the two companies had been working closely over the past year and raised US$300 million to scale the transaction. Moixa’s strategic investors Itochu and Honda have become shareholders in Lunar, alongside lead investors Sunrun (the largest solar installation company in the US) and SK Group (a South Korean holding company).
Daniel said the acquisition “enables us to scale our GridShare™ software to manage the world’s batteries across Europe, Japan and into the US. It enables a wider range of solutions to electrify homes, help households share resources and deliver low carbon energy grids, supporting the energy and climate transition.” The software is deployed across 35,000 homes (330MWh of batteries).
Moixa’s UK website will become a customer hub for UK Moixa Battery owners.
