RAW Charging to add 50 EV chargers per month at Greene King sites, wants brownfield land for ‘Charge Yards’

RAW Charging is planning to add 25 electric vehicle (EV) charging points every month at Greene King sites to add to the 500 charge points it has already installed for Greene King customers.
RAW has activated new EV charging facilities at over 50 Greene King sites since March 2023, are designed for locations with a dwell time of over two hours, such as at a pub or hotel. The company said providing EV charging is now “paramount for hospitality, leisure and retail sectors”, because “Guests who own EVs are more likely to choose hospitality options with charging facilities. By providing EV charging, businesses will dramatically increase the chances of repeat business while attracting new EV-driving customers through word-of-mouth and third-party platforms.”
RAW’s other major clients include Merlin Entertainments, where this year ports serving 90 charging bays will be installed across Thorpe Park, Chessington World of Adventures, Alton Towers, Warwick Castle and Legoland Windsor, and National Trust.
It also seeks disused brown field to host so-called Charge Yards, two examples of which have recently opened in Bishop Auckland and Croydon.
