Connections reform evidence window to be open 8-29 July

The National Energy System Operator (NESO) has published its timeline for the delivery of connections reform across 2025.
NESO will open the transmission evidence submission window on 8 July for transmission projects, as well as for Distribution Network Operators representing projects on their distribution networks, to come forward with evidence of their project’s maturity and deliverability. The transmission evidence window will close on 29 July. After the window closes, NESO will reorganise the over 3,000 projects in the transmission connection queue.
To support developers through the connections reform evidence submission window NESO will be running weekly webinars, publishing on-demand videos and regularly updating FAQs, alongside the evidence handbook published in May. However, NESO said it would not be able to provide bespoke advice to maintain fairness among the large number of organisations involved.
NESO called on developers to help NESO and networks by engaging early with the evidence submission window.
NESO will begin to issue new connection agreements in the autumn and said it would prioritising ‘first needed first deliverable’ projects critical to the success of Clean Power 2030.
