Clydebank site approved for 560MW battery

Apatura has received planning consent to build a new 560MW/1120MWh battery near Clydebank in West Dunbartonshire, Scotland.
Apatura has secured planning permission for eleven battery sites in the last two years. With this latest approval, Apatura has now secured permission to build a combined total of more than 2.1GW in electricity storage capacity at sites across central Scotland.

The 29Ha site is two miles from Clydebank and eight miles from Glasgow. It will connect via an underground cable to the Windyhill substation 560m away and the Drumchapel substation two miles away.
