Severn Trent Green Power has announced that construction will shortly begin on four new solar farms. Three of the sites, in North Yorkshire, Warwickshire, Shropshire and Leicestershire, will move into delivery from late March and the fourth is scheduled to follow in July. Construction across the four sites will be delivered by EPC contractor Belectric.
Jonathon Wroe, Managing Director at Severn Trent Green Power, said: “These are the first solar projects of scale that STGP is bringing forward, and they mark an important step in our long-term commitment to renewable energy.”
The company already has 33 solar parks, six wind turbines, and eight hydro-electric turbines. It also has nine anaerobic digestion facilities, and five composting sites that collectively recycle 400kt of food waste and more than 120kt of green waste annually.
