Seagreen foundations ready for journey to site

SSE has released pictures of foundations being developed for its Seagreen offshore wind farm.
The £3 billion Seagreen will be Scotland’s largest offshore wind farm and the deepest in the world attached to the seabed, when it is completed in 2023. It is a joint venture SSE and TotalEnergies and is located 27km off the coast of Angus on Scotland’s east coast.
The image shows foundations at the marshalling port at the Port of Nigg in the Highlands. The foundations are 95m tall, weigh 2,000 tonnes each and are the bases on which the 114 turbines will sit.
Each foundation and turbine structure will be 280m tall, almost as high as the Shard, the UK’s tallest building.
