Downing Renewable Developments (DRD) has won planning permission for a 49.9MW solar farm and battery in Cornwall following an appeal.
The Fair Park development, near Carland Cross, will operate as a solar farm for 30 years, with ongoing sheep grazing and biodiversity enhancements including new hedgerows, wildflower meadows, and habitat improvements.
As part of a its community benefit package, DRD will also provide free solar rooftop installations to nearby residents to directly reduce their energy costs.
The project builds on DRD’s existing 6GW pipeline of UK renewable development projects.
