A tender will open on 29 October three offshore transmission assets, Ofgem has announced. The regulator says the three links will together be worth more than £2 billion.
The assets are links to three offshore wind farms:
• Beatrice (588MW), 13km off of the Caithness coast;
• Hornsea 1 ( 1,218MW), 120km from the Yorkshire /Lincolnshire coast; and
• EastAngliaONE (714MW), 43km from the East Anglia /Suffolk coast.
A launch event will be held on 10 October. Parties should register to attend by 3 October. Ofgem also promised to provide an update on its OFTO tender process policy consultation for future tender rounds at that time.
