The Next Generation innovation fund has opened for applications. It is lookimg for  well established and experienced community energy businesses in England who want to develop innovative business models. Projects must be complete by June 2021. 

It will select five projects from this application round, which closes on 15 September. It offers research and development support, potential grant funding of up to £100,000 and learning and  networking.

There are two rounds of applications. One closed in February 2019 and  five groups were selected to move forward into the Research and Development stage. 

Shortlisted groups will have to attend an interview in October 2019
